Sue Busch’s guide to slowing down the aging process

Updated: Mar 22, 2019

Sunscreen WINTER SUMMER SPRING AND FALL …It is well documented that sun exposure contributes to wrinkles, sunspots, hyperpigmented spots and the breakdown of skin cells. Sunscreen is the best anti-aging investment you can make and it is a must for skin cancer prevention. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends a broad spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or above. Apply generously every 2 hours.

Sunscreen recommendations:

● Environ Sunscreen SPF 30 (sold at Medical Aesthetics on Tremont)

● Neutrogena sensitive skin sunscreen lotion SPF 60

● La Roch-Posay Anthelios clear skin sunscreen SPF 60

Skin Care Establish a skin care routine

Your skin care is essential to healthy skin. It does not have to be complicated but should include a gentle wash, retinol and moisturizer.

Here at Medical Aesthetics on Tremont we recommend Environ Skin Products which are recommended by Tufts Medical Center, a Harvard affiliated Medical Center. Environ’s excellent formula is the product of choice for their burn patients.

See Stephanie Ford, our master esthetician’s post for product recommendation.

HydraFacials

Don’t mistake a HydraFacial for a facial. A HydraFacial is advanced technology that combined with nourishing ingredients that restore skin health and create an instant glow in just 30 minutes with no down time with just 3 steps!

1st Step: Cleanse and Peel : A mild peel is applied followed with a gentle exfoliation to gently uncover a new layer of skin

2cd Step: Extract and Hydrate: Remove debris from pores with painless suction. Hydrate and nourish the skin with intense moisturiser the quench the skin.

3rd Step: Fuse and Protect: Saturate the skin’s surface with antioxidants and peptides to maximize your glow.

At Medical Aesthetics on Tremont, we offer both Signature HydraFacials and the Advanced HydraFacial that are tailored to your unique skin needs.

For healthy skin remember to maintain a healthy lifestyle with nutritious meals, drink plenty of water, don’t smoke, avoid the sun and tanning beds and if you want that bronze glow use self-tanners.
